Avocados, Music Minimum Wage, US Food

Happy Saturday, friend!

We’re back again with another edition of Productivity + Habits + Fun

😃 Fun Fact of the Week

Avocados aren’t vegetables!

They’re technically very large, single-seed berries. Who knew!

💪 Featured Productivity Tool

Chunking - performing like tasks together.

Let’s say you’re running a faceless YouTube channel. From start to finish, your work flow looks like this:

  • idea generation

  • scripting

  • voice recording

  • video production/ editing

  • posting

You could follow these steps per video, one after the other.

OR, you could chunk these activities together like this:

  • Monday: generate 5 new video ideas

  • Tuesday: script these 5 ideas

  • Wednesday: record your voice for the 5 videos

  • Thursday/ Friday: produce and edit the 5 videos

  • Saturday: schedule the 5 videos to post on Monday through Friday the following week

  • Sunday: rest

This creates a more structured work cycle and helps keep you accountable. It also helps by keeping focused on one mode of thought at a time rather than switching gears between all five steps each day.

Do you have something in your life that this would work for?

🎶 To Earn US Minimum Wage, An Artist Must Sell…

I’ve heard that most of the money is in merchandise, but this really helps bring it into perspective.

🍽️ Where The US Gets Its Food

There’s our avocado friends again, and my beloved Colombian coffee! 😍

I have to admit I’m very surprised to see water listed here.

😌 Decision-making Idea

If you can’t decide, the answer is no.

Naval

This is a great reminder to always be sure of a decision before acting. If you have any doubt, you are at high risk of faltering and experiencing buyer’s remorse.

To paraphrase Mark Manson, “If it’s not a ‘hell yes,’ then it’s a ‘hell no.’”

🧠 Quote of the Week

You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him.

Malcolm Forbes

What I think: I didn’t realize it at the time, but this is something fantastic that I learned from my parents. They always showed me how to treat everyone with courtesy and respect. In my early working years in retail, I was able to experience how unkind people can be. One of my personal life principles is to leave other people better than I find them. The smallest kindness can have such a massive impact.

What do you think?

Thank you so much for spending some of you precious time with me. 🙂

I’m always looking to improve, so hit “reply” and let me know what you think!

Have an awesome week.

Sincerely,

Steven Sanders
